Responses To Your Comments02/03/2008 THE TIMES I HAVE GONE TO VISIT YOUR RESTAURANT I USUALLY GO IN THE EVENINGS. I USUALLY ORDER STEAKS OR SOMETIMES SOMETHING SIMPLE LIKE A HAMBURGER. THE COOK HAS ALWAYS GOTTEN MY STEAKS COOKED JUST THE WAY I LOVE THEM. I HAVE NEVER HAD TO RETURN ANY OF MY FOOD. THAT IS THE PROBLEM I HAVE AT OTHER RESTAURANTS AND THAT JUST UPSETS ME THAT THEY HAVE SOMEONE WORKING AS A COOK AND THEY CANT EVEN GET THE STEAKS COOKED THE WAY THE CUSTOMER WANTS. I DON'T KNOW WHO YOUR EVENING COOK IS BUT HE IS EXCELLENT.. 01/25/2008 My family and I are frequent customers of your restaurant. On 01/24/2008 my mother and I attempted to have a nice dinner together. Our waiter, by the name of XXXXX, was very sarcastic and and rude. At first he was humorous, but his jokes and intent seemed disrespectful. I asked him for more butter and he told me that it was in the kitchen if I wanted to get it myself. He never returned with butter for my meal. When I asked him where my butter was he just asked if I really wanted it and never made effort to get me what I asked for. I then asked for a refill of water and he told me that it was raining so I could hold my cup outside if I was thirsty. I told him that I would be needing a to-go box and when he returned with one he took my mothers dish, away from her, and poured the remains into the box. She let go of her fork as he pulled the plate away. When I told him that she wasn't finished he said that she will just have to eat it out of the box and began to take my food away. I asked if she could at least get her fork back and he just looked at me and continued to finish his duties. He started to tell us that he is really tired because that was his fourth day in a role to work open to close so he was ready to go home. My mother asked him what time yall close and he said at nine but that he was told he could leave as soon as we (my mother and I) were finished. The time on our receipt says 7:14pm so I don't find it necessary to be rushed to finish our dinner. I have never been treated this way at your restaurant. It felt as if the quality of the food was lower because of the quality of service we received. I don't appreciate the visit and I hope that no one else has had an experience like ours. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns, my phone number is (361)xxx-xxxx. Dear Ms. G, I want to begin this letter by first telling you that I am extremely sorry that you had a bad experience here at my restaurant. As you may or may not know my wife and I have worked hard to establish ourselves here in this area with good food and good service. It is difficult to totally know what our staff is doing 100% of the time and the only way we recognize problem areas is by caring customers as yourself. We spend a lot of time, effort and money to train our employees to basically treat our customers as I myself would like to be treated. I take all compliments and complaints to heart. With problem areas we immediately take action to either fix the problem or get rid of it. The experience you had here should not have happened to you or any other customer that I have. I myself would have felt the same and probably would have written in to the restaurant as I have in the past. I can not fix the past but I can certainly try to fix the present and hope for the best in the future. I do NOT want to lose ANY business, so I will try to gain your confidence in Peoples once again. I invite you to come over with your mom and enjoy a meal on us. This is not something to quiet you down, this is something as an apology from me, and to receive what you should have received in the first place. You have paid for this meal already when you were here last, so don’t think of it as a gift. If this ever, I mean ever, happens again do not hesitate to ask for a member of management or myself. Sincerely, Joe Gonzalez 12/30/2007 HI! I know rest typically get feedback when something goes wrong so I thought you might appreciate knowing about my experience tonight. I live near your rest and my parents love the place...I have always been indifferent...in the past I feel the food tastes the same and its just doesn't have that "wow" factor... until tonight... I went with my family...reluctantly.....and when we got there...to my pleasant surprise I find a new menu! More variety and new dishes...As we walk in I was already complaining about having to sit up against the wall because its uncomfortable...the waitress heard me (oops) and she offered for us to move tables...I declined and figured id tough it out...The waitress did an amazing job of showing off the new menu and explaining the new choices...very pleasant from the beginning...even with a somewhat difficult customer (me) when she brought our tea i asked about a dish I had not seen before...she said you know...it is actually VERY good...I myself was surprised at how good it is when I tried it..i think you'll enjoy it...so i ordered it...it did take a little while for our food to arrive but WOW....well worth the wait...it was quite possibly one of the best chicken pasta dishes I have ever had (chicken ve......i cant remember the name but it had a ton of yummy veggies in an amazing sauce) so this is officially the first time I have EVER been completely satisfied with the service AND the food! Props to the chef and Gayle for doing an amazing job! Sincerely, Mary E Dear Ms. E, We totally appreciate the time you took to write to us about your experience here at our restaurant. It truly brings joy to all of us here that work hard to make everyone's experience the best it can be. I know we drop the ball more than we'd like but we continue every which way to improve. It has taken us months to put this new menu together and we have had a very good feedback on it. I appreciate your candor and when we receive either positive or negative reviews, we take them very seriously. Many of our improvements come from customer suggestions. I hope can continue to give you more "wow" experiences in the future and please do not hesitate to tell us when we don’t and this can only help us. We are family owned and don’t have the resources of people developing our business, menu, commercials or anything else, so all changes take time in our case. We hope to continue our success with your help and the help of other customers. Thank you again. Joe & Hope Gonzalez 9/30/2007 I love your restaurant. My son and his date ate at Peoples before prom. The party of about 8 people all enjoyed the meal and had a great time. I also love your website. Great Job Veronica. No wonder you had the highest average in Webmastering. Sandra M 8/4/2007 From ROB quality: 4 taste: 4 service: 2 atmosphere: 4 overall: 3 Comments: it just seemed funny to order all u can eat shrimp platter and when u get the platter there were only like 5 shrimp on them. whenever we asked for some more shrimp for 2 people the waitress brought a bowl that had 5 more. the 3rd time she brought out a tea cup saucer with only 4. that's ridiculous. not only that we always had to ask for more shrimp. not once did she ask if we wanted more. Bottom line if you are going to advertise and offer all u can eat shrimp, do not try and be cheap and stingy with the order. Just for that reason we will never come back and will tell others about our experience. Dear Rob, We received your comments with no response email or address, so we decided to answer your concerns here on our response page (new). You are correct that we only initially put 5 shrimp on our all you can eat shrimp platter and yes we limit the amount of shrimp to the table to 2 shrimp per person unless our customer ask for more per refill. The reasons for this is both financial and moral. When Peoples first started the all you can eat shrimp about 3 months ago, we saw a lot of shrimp go to waste in the trash can. Even with the 7 shrimp that we initially put on the plate, shrimp would come back and get tossed. We saw many servers taking plates with loads of shrimp to the table and many would come back into the trash bin. This gave me a sick feeling, not about losing money, but of just the sin of throwing good food away. We made a change from putting 7 shrimp to 5 and limiting the amount of shrimp going to the tables to 2 per person. We have customers that come in here in a regular basis and eat over 20, and the day you came in, someone ate 62. That night you came in, we served 33 all you can eat platters, not much, but we cooked approximately 600 shrimp. That is an average of about 20 shrimp per person. We serve only high quality, hand breaded jumbo shrimp. You will find it difficult to find anyone in Texas that has this type of special with this quality shrimp. Yes our waitress should have been asking you if you wanted more as soon as you were needing more. We are not trying to be cheap or stingy as you put it, we are just trying to do what is right and moral. I see you gave us a score of 3 overall which I take as a compliment. The customers I have and that know me, know that I do whatever I can do for them. I am sorry that you have turned to being resentful about your experience and hope you can find that restaurant in the sky that will serve you all you can eat shrimp for 11.99 and never stop bringing shrimp to your table. Here to serve you, Joe Gonzalez |
